Do wat I want...

Your average MC spits bars; very few can say they spit lava, Dizzle can say he does.

The 'Do wot I want' EP is testament to that.

Even though he may have been somewhat inactive recently, as both a long time mainstay in the grime scene and the sibling of a succesful artists - Dizzle already has history.

This is the 'sophomore effort' from an artist many have always had great expectations from, and quite possibly proof that Dizzle already has a future.

Although the production comes from names as sterling as 'Faze Miyaki' and 'Bless Beats', one has to respect the loyalty that is getting Bruza and Mayhem rather than some of the more 'en vogue' names to guest.

There'll always be 'pretenders to the thrown' out here in the Grime Scene, but with Dizzle ready to go, it seems many may get a spanner in their works! This clash spinner / rave burner has come along way in order to be a fully fledged artist and this is clearly just the beginning...

Just click on the tracklist below to download the EP (it's free!)

Shout out to Dizzle Kid again, hopefully the downloads keep going strong!

Your dreams are sweet and obsessed...

A lot has happened in both THE world and My world since the last time I was 'in the office'.

There's a lot I have to get through as I get back up to speed, but lets start with lyrics: namely 'Ize of the world by The Strokes'

This song is my life story

I think I know what you mean but watch what you say
'cause they'll be try to knock you down in some way
Sometimes it feels like the world is falling asleep
How do you wake someone up from inside a dream?

Your mind would wander and searched for its place in the night
Your body followed this feeling like following light
Once that your music was born it followed you 'round
And then it gave your activities meaning and let you be loud

You're sad but you smile
It not in your eyes
Your eyeballs won't change
It's the muscles around your eyes

An egg to fertilize
A pulse to stabilize
A body to deodorize
A life to scrutinize
A child to criticize
Young adults to modernize
Citizens to terrorize
Generations to desensitize

You're dreams are sweet and obsessed
And your overworked
You're overtaken by visions of being overlooked
How disappointed would D.(ead) I.(dealistic) D.(esperate) I.(nventor) P.(ioneer) P.(hilosophers)
Be to see such power in our hands all wasted on greed
Am I a prisoner to instincts?
Or do my thoughts just live
As free and detached
As boats to the dock?

Just like when music was born
And detached from your heart
Is your free time to free minds
Or for falling apart?

Night after night
You turn out the light
You don't fall asleep right away
"Are we... are we done?"

A desk to organize
A product to advertise
A market to monopolize
Movie stars you idolize
Leaders to scandalize
Enemies to neutralize
No time to apologize
Fury to tranquilize
Weapons to synchronize
Cities to vapor-i

Vim Diesel...

No, you didn't read the title incorrectly, that's what it says...

Furthermore, it's a fitting one; you think of Vin Diesel, and muscle is maybe the first thing that springs to mind eh. If so the analogy works, because the point I'm trying to make is Herda Vim is a big producer, his very name implies that if you haven't 'heard of him' something could be wrong with you.

Although he hasn't done 'the rounds' like some of the more established 'professional button pushers' the UK's scene has produced (i.e Davinche or Joker) he definitely has the innovation and clarity of vision.

July 3rd sees the release of his sophomore effort the "Not yet but soon" EP, and many are eagerly anticipating its arrival.

Although he's still at the 'them that knows knows' level of notoriety, this is the first step of many towards changing that.

Herda Vim?

NOT YET BUT SOON!

Today has been a good day...

I'm progressing and I love that, nothing could knock me down from where I am now.
life is beautiful.

It took me so long to reach here, but I know I can't go back now and I wouldn't want to either.
I've finally come to terms with the pain I caused some of the people I care about most and although I can't take any of that back, I've come to terms with the sadness that ran through me then.

I understand it now, when I wasn't working hard to become the best me I could imagine, I was finding different ways to fill 'the gap' in me I felt. Had I known what I know now, I would've been doing my best to create a future for the person I never wanted to be too far from.

I didn't and I lost the balance from my life. That was then though.

For the time in 2 years I've felt like I deserve good things.

I'd like to say the old me is back but it isnt that...

This is the new me :P

Poetic injustice...

I was thinking about the kitchen
playing with words
tryna mix 'thirsty' and 'hungry'
I came up with 'thungry' at first
 then realised
'hunger' and 'thurst' obviously makes hurst
yeah
I think i should go to the kitchen

Newham Arts Development Foundation...

Recently I managed to get myself into a 'media consultancy' position, with the Newham Arts Development Foundation.

As the media guy my job description is 1) create a blog to showcase the results of this project, and the work of Newham based artists. 2) Manage / optimise the success of the NADF Twitter & Facebook 3) Bolster youth participation 4) Help enrich the NADF's summer program (specifically in terms of more urban art-forms such Music and Graffiti)

Their mission statement is: To bring all artists, arts organisations and professionals in Newham together. We support artists working across all art forms by creating a platform to help them develop their creative ideas and showcase their work.

The 1st thing I have to do is this blog.
As a basic concept for the banner I thought...
of Using a map of London as the main focus.
The idea is basically, to have the site based on a white colour scheme with coloured accents. Thus the banner will be white, with all of the other boroughs replaced with a montage and Newham and the Thames both being red. The idea being to imply that Newham is the heart of London.

Anyway, I'm mid doing it now - so you'll soon see what I mean.

Hiatus...

I must admit... I've been 'gone for a while now'.
The last time I posted something on here was weeks ago, and that was lackluster in comparison to my previous workrate...
All I can say is my head hasn't been in the right place
Life's tough at the best of times, and it doesn't help when you're in the habit of sabotaging your own life. In the last 3 yrs I have fallen out of contact with my ex, as well as lot of family and friends. You can't blame anyone else for things you're responsible for, so I've been down without any way to get it off my chest. No one wants to be around 'the vacuum in the room'.

Even though I've put myself in a better career position than I could've imagined years ago and I have a great Girlfriend who's also been a great friend, I'm stuck always reminiscing about her.

When there's only one person you really want to speak to, and you can't, it's kinda like being...

Lost in space.
It's all good though, I've kinda come to a point where I finally feel like I have some understanding of the way my actions impacted her, how it felt to be perpetually seeking the attention of someone so clearly lacking an understanding of how you're thinking or feeling.

It's learning curves and growth init, I'll be the first one to admit guilt - It's all actually my fault.

All I can do is live and learn, things are good right now, even if I'm not. I'm on my grind and quite a few things have happened since the last time I posted a blog.

Essex Boys...

Regardless of what you may think about Essex,
the fact remains that it's a place with it's own fair share of serious dudes.

Here are some of them...

Ras Star don't like pagans...

You see Ras Star, he don't like pagans init...
He does his thing on this track and shows you how he differs from your average MC!

His mixtape should be dropping this year!

Friday 22 April 2011

Friday Freestyle Bonanza 2

'The dude in the biggest chair' over at Generalz Ent is going in this week

Wednesday 20 April 2011

Turning the air blue...

Hangtite Jimmy Chiba.
Dude has been putting his camera on anything and everything for a little while now
His newest venture is 'Operation Blue Borough' in which he plans to record as much of Lewishams up and coming talent as possible.

Here's the newest episode - Big Cakes

who definitely does his thing
(despite the fact he makes the age old MC faux pas that is reading bars from his blackberry)
Watch, enjoy and expect more from Jimmy Chiba - he does this!

Friday 15 April 2011

Heavy Duty...

Available for free download - here is the new mixtape 'Delicious Vol.1' from Essex MC Heavy Duty.

With a whopping 22 tracks - dude show's he's not work shy.
I'll say little because the evidence is there to speak for itself.

Friends, Roadmans, Countrymen...
 Enjoy!!

ps I'm there, track 17 ^_^

Herda James?

Herda Vim is a serious artist.
No nonsense, timewasters need not apply, cash upfront and direct.

This track says it all...

Here he teams up with Jordan James on 'Bring Those Notes' where he showcases clearly the reason he can be so outpsoken in terms of business.

Consistent, original and organised.
If you ain't heard've him yet...

Friday Freestyle Bonanza

I have been somewhat 'absentee' on the blogging front for the past few weeks,
somewhere between the Newham 10K and other stuff i'm doing it's peaak.

Anyways, f*ck all the talk - here's the videos...

Saturday 2 April 2011

Home Straight...

Ok!
We're officially getting close now -
It's just over a week until the Newham Classic 10k and things are gathering pace.

We still have to get t-shirts printed...
which will look roughly like this

and although in terms physical fundraising things are going well,
online fundraising isn't getting off the ground as quick...
The Barnardo's site has had two donations, but the Care Leaver's Association hasn't had any as yet.
With only 7 days left until the big day, it's more than time for us to both intensify efforts and also encourage people more to give.

So here's the truth - you can afford to give

All too often "We buy things we don't need, with money we don't have, to impress people we don't like." which is pointless, where as giving to charity is sensible and will also make you feel good!

Wednesday 23 March 2011

He stumble's...

Unfortunately the power cable on the Laptop I use (to do everything) has snapped.
So I can't do alot of things, including uploading the Vlog I was supposed to upload yesterday.

It's Troublesome, but for the moment can't be helped...

Hopefully I should be able to do something by tomorrow, until then...

here's a reminder of why we're running for Barnado's on April 10th.

Tuesday 22 March 2011

On your marks...

I have now set up both the donation sites for contributions towards both

 &
meaning everyone can start getting involved!

I'll be putting up the first of our training Vlog's in a little while, in the meantime please go to either http://www.fundraiseforbarnardos.org.uk/newham10k or http://www.justgiving.com/newham10k2011/
to give to either Barnardo's or Care Leavers Association.

It may not instantly change a life, but it'll will do it's part to help better somebodies chances, so...

Thanks for caring!

Long Distance...

In just over two weeks the 'Newham Classic 10k'

will commence for the 3rd time on April 10th,
with the route this year including West Ham Park,
Stratford High Street and The new London 2012 Olympic Park.

This time round three members of our organisation - Yanik, Rasa and Christina will be running to raise funds for two charities.
Care Leavers Association
&
Barnardo's
Today I will be uploading not only the the first training Vlog from Yanik,
but also all the information on how to donate and get involved via facebook.

So until then...

Friday 18 March 2011

O_o...

is the only title I could really think of that's appropriate for this post.

It's a new tune from MY PRODUCER (see how I said that) El Suavo, and there's only one word to describe it...

Enjay ft Jasmine Bee - Always On My Mind by ElSuavoDaDon

South-West London Mc Enjay and songstress Jasmine Bee both go in, but at the end of the day it's the beat that makes this the disgusting monster of a tune it is.
Given the correct promotion and what not, this track could definitely do the numbers - but what's more certain than that is that El Suavo can and will show you that which I have already clocked.

This tune is nothing short of certified.

Friday Freestyles Episode 3...

is Mc Points

From the same collective as Sifu Chan - Shaolin Mc's
Enjoy!

Next week is mine :D

Tuesday 15 March 2011

Oi what you looking at....

There are 2 things I can say about the single: it’s most certainly grime (more so than most singles by currently successful ‘urban artists’), it’s not the best from the artist formerly known as ‘Doogz’.
I’m just picky...  so seeing as I’ve previously heard Goodz ‘go blind’, I didn’t go crazy about this.
Between tracks already in the public domain such as Gunshot and Letter to Titch, and tracks from the Boyz in the Hood era (pre- Titch’s incarceration) that are harder to find - this is not his greatest. It is however his most commercial tune to date, and although I have my doubts about this track, it is still sick!
Thoroughly Grime at the same time as being catchy enough to ‘do the rounds’ chart-wise.
He showcases his versatility in terms of flow and the productions good, but it’s just a bit too aesthetic for me. I’ve heard Goodz ‘go in’ before (believe me!); this track feels more like a teaser, but that’s okay, I’m sure the next ones gonna be lava.

My verdict – Straight cop! Furthermore, familiarise yourself with the works of this young Gentleman, he has been and still is an important part of Grime.

Overall - 6.5/10

Monday 14 March 2011

It's been a weird 24 Hrs...

I've seen or heard from a lot of people that I ain't in close contact with,
which is perculiar... but not in a bad way.

I understand, we're all busy tryna be who we want to be!

This one's for all of the people I know or knew...

It feels like spring, so it's only appropriate to send warm wishes through the air.
Much love to all of ya!

I am so on this...

my destination must be in it!!

Fact is necessity will always be the mother of invention, especially when your from 'Greasy Places', this isn't actually anything new to me - I never got toys as a kid, so I played with words!

Even though it is an absolute pain in the arse not to have photoshop or illustrator to do this stuff, I'm not fussed.

I still managed to Bang out this leaflet on MS Paint (as well as powerpoint)...
Obviously the top is the outside spread and the bottom is the inside spread

I'm proud!
You can decide on your own time whether or not I should be - Now to print these somewhere!

Friday 11 March 2011

Japan, we love you...

As I'm sure you may have heard, Japan is currently in the wake of the worst natural disaster in recent documented history.

For those interested in the technical information, here's the affected area...
and the BBC are probably the best source of information at the moment!
I have a High School friend who's currently out there in the Land of the Rising Sun, so I hope he aswell as anyone and everyone in Japan is as OK as can be helped.

So here's to Japan - the land of Kawaii, the home of Anime, the place that gave the world both Samurai and Ninja's, the original eastern technological Don Dapper that is proud Nippon.

We Salute you,
and furthermore wish you a speedy recovery!

Friday Freestyles EP 2

Bada-bing!
Here's the second episode of Generalz Ent's Friday Freestyles series!
Not long til mine comes out, but in the meantime here's South London MC Redzy AB - enjoy!

Friday Freestyles Ep1

I double dare someone to say it's not Sunday.
I swear I will cast an incantion to banish you from this dimension.
Question my timing and i'll come to your yard and damage every piece of equipment with a clock in it.

The first installment of Generalz Ent's Friday Freestyle's is up!

This weeks one is North London Mc Sifu Chan...

he definitely went in,
and now the pace has been set as it were;
I can not wait for the next installments!

Tuesday 1 March 2011

Just because you're paranoid...

doesn't mean they're not after you.

A memorable lyric from a well known Nirvana song. It's relevance right now is that I have the feeling my work is being imitated, to say the least.

Although I have left the Sound Freakz team, the 'bio' I sent to them...
has seemingly been imitated by them in terms of style or substance for use with another writer...
my biggest gripe is that I think it's a poor imitation, and everyone knows - it's only the sincerest form of flattery when done correctly, other than that it's more insult.

Anyways, best of luck to them - I shall be putting up the reviews I wrote for them whilst with the team shortly

Saturday 26 February 2011

All of the lightsss!!!

This really had me Gassed up so I had to share it!

Hangtight Generalz Ent and everyone affiliated...

He's starting a series of Friday Freestyles, and yours truly is featuring in one come late march!

I'll be featuring all of them freshly every friday when they're eventually put up!

CEO of Nothing...

In such a burgeoning capital city as London, one is more than likely to encounter a plethora of entrepreneurial individuals (whether above board or criminal in terms of orientation).
It just happens to be one of those things that you get used to when living or growing up here.
Having said all the above, I still can't tolerate the pretentious and self-important people amongst us who exhibit arrogance given their first sniff at some bastion of power or control.

These tiny people just want to be...
so badly it's scary.

Frankly, I shalln't engage with anybody who is CEO of Nothing tangible when I'm already Project co-ordinator of something both visible and geared towards real change.

Humility is a gift, I could never be better than anyone by the same token that nobody could legitimately be better than me, I don't do this to elevate myself, I do this ultimately because it's one of the things I'm good at and I believe as a rule that the world needs more conscientious contributors.

It certainly doesn't need any more CEO's of Nothing!

Monday 14 February 2011

Bare Negativity!!!

THIS IS SO F*CKED LMAO

Nobody in the country is funnier than these two right now - snm

Saturday 12 February 2011

Prince Naseem reborn...

Erm... not really lolol

SNM

The Sun...

Has an online feature about Marger

That's currently on their site.
Good look for both Marger and Grime as a genre.

Friday 11 February 2011

I am proud to announce that...

Has now attained backing from the
Things are really looking good at the moment so please wish us luck, we have a 'big presentation' coming up next month!

Also please contact us if you'd like to get involved in any way shape or form ;)

Peace!

Thursday 10 February 2011

Hitsville UK....

A beautiful idea, the idea of a domestic scene big enough to circum-navigate A&R's and slimy music executives, a scene bubbling enough just to give music straight from the artist to the listener without feeding an overbloated middle-man.

Although the song is by The Clash...

the dream is timeless and belongs to us all.

If Wiley is the Godfather of this countries most growing music genre, this song or the idea represented is ideologically something like the Old Testament (should they ever write the book of grime).

Wednesday 9 February 2011

Sound Freakz...

Is launching on the 21st February (touchwood)
and I'm sure it'll be both glorious and amazing!

We aim to cover as many genre's as possible in terms of reviewing
whilst remaining honest, organic and fun in terms of style.

I don't wanna say too much about it, lest I 'jynx it' but fact is,
I've got a good feeling about this - immense even.

Here's my Personal Bio for the site:

I often carry sweets such as Fruit-tella or Starburst on my person - to put it quite frankly, no you cannot have one. I don’t have hair like a Black Justin Bieber, he has a bonce like a white Bizzy Dot. I drink espresso, but don’t mix up mine and Tilda’s orders – mine’s the double with two sugars bredrin.
I’m a blogger, I say what I want and like the umpire and ballboy’s in tennis, you can decide whether or not I crossed the line after. I am ‘him with the big mouth’ and I’ve got a lot to say, furthermore I won’t be silenced easily like a shotgun, I am more than a problem, I am the calamity that fell from the sky. No matter what I write, its spelt ‘G R I M E’. I am Bizzy Dot and being over-opinionated is ‘Bizzyness as Usual’ people. Easy.

Shenanigans!!

If you don't know about 'Shenanigans' you simply ain't grime... but that's OK!
The artist I'm talking about could show you the ropes easily, although it's cliched to call a Grime artist the

Durty Goodz could easily be called a reputable 118 number when it comes to this scene - anyways before I go way off tangent with that particular analogy, let me show you people what's good!

One things for sure, somebody looks like they have no plans on making watered down grime.
It's not Goodz's best, but it definitely is good!

Monday 7 February 2011

DIY...

I'm back on my 'Home Improvement' ting...
SNM

Sunday 6 February 2011

Everybody knows that...

Fruit-tella is...

Thats a given, I'd even go as far as saying that they are a marker of social status - as 'real badman' always have a pack with them. I mean how else would a lot of us deal with the long hours and working conditions found 'on the road' if we weren't rolling with Fruit-tella (or to a lesser extent starburst).

Anyways all talk of sweets aside, Adam Deacon's new movie Anuvahood is coming out in March, and somewhere between the cameos and trailer it looks like it should be 'jokes'.

Saturday 5 February 2011

call me a keyboard warrior...

"cos I might hit him in the head with a keyboard" - Wiley Mike Lowery Freestyle

Is an appropriate quote for this post; recently Shelly Marie, the 'Capo' of the Sound Freakz team that I now write for expressed her concerns regarding my safety.
She (quite logically) has recognised the possibility that my frank manner of both dialogue and critique could get me in trouble at some point down the line - thing is I'm more than just some writer or blogger.

I'm 'from the bits', thus I have got a notable set of 'grapefruits' which are often the reason I wear my trousers below waist level. I am indeed from the bits, many MC's still know where I reside and I am not moved by the idea that I could upset anyone more than the idea that I could inspire many.

Fact is I ain't scared of none of you *******, not more than I want to write anyways.

Monday 31 January 2011

Beautiful Mind...

Is an appropriate name for the new EP from UK House DJ and Producer Smoove Kriminal

As I found it utterly beautiful and very well constructed.
Here's a little snippet...

The man is clearly 'about it', the tracks are thoroughly well put together and the whole EP has an ethereal and soulful feel about it which left me nice and relaxed ^_^

The 5 tracks on the EP are :
1. Crystal Water
2. Night Breeze
3. Elevated Levels
4. In Between
5. Soul Deep

and each one is definitely worth a £1 (at the very least)

The Beautiful Mind EP is available from www.smoovekriminal.com
and you can catch the man himself playing UK House and Funky House from 6pm-8pm on DejaVu

Thursday 27 January 2011

Akala...

Is a speaker - nuff said.

If that intelligent stuff is for you.

Personally, I think few do it better - enjoy!

Wednesday 19 January 2011

This is grime...

Rocks - War Ting (Instrumental) by Threefold_Media

its not necessary for me to say more than that

This brother...

Is making a lot of sense...

He's definitely a speaker after my own heart and overall he has a strong point "build it and they shall come".
So this is out to all my real movers and shakers, 'bun an imageting' and don't even think about the money as an endpoint, payment is a byproduct of business it's not as important as what service you're providing so don't think about cash as much as you think about adaptability initiative and confidence.

Eitherway, this life is for the schemers...

Tuesday 18 January 2011

Like the first day of school...

I recently got a writing position with Sound Freakz, a e-magazine/blog that's hitting the web this Spring.
Today' is the first full team meeting and to tell the truth I'm nervous!

It's like the 1st day of school!
Having said that, I've never been one of them short trousers youts so it's not anxiety I'm feeling, this nervous energy is more excitement than anything else.
I can't wait to see who I'm working with, being in a roomfull of developing ideas is a lot for me!

Anyways will put a little update about the meeting up afterwards, for now...

A lil bit of Herda Vim for you to Vibes to!

Monday 17 January 2011

The only way is Essex...

I spent a lot of last weekend in Southend because my long time friend Steve now lives there and found MC's.
I recorded 2 tracks with dudes I met up there and was generally impressed with their love for grime, I think it's really poignant how hard people will work when they aren't fortunate enough to be from the place 'where it's all happening'.

They haven't necessarily got the same sound (which makes sense) but they've definitely got their own sound and dudes are undeniably thorough.

It wouldn't be bizzyness as usual if I wasn't about expansion, so I'm gonna make the journey at least once a week to lay tracks with them man and maybe touch radio etc

Anyways this is one of the artists I did a tune with...

Friends, Roadmans, Countrymen - Heavy Duty is the mans name!!

Watch this space!
As soon as I get the track I did back from studio I'll put it up on either Youtube or Soundcloud!

Friday 14 January 2011

Trim Vs Everyone and Anyone

There are some people that you just shouldn't enter into conflict with. Trim is that guy.
Probably the most prolific of all 'problems' in the scene, Trim is the last guy any MC should start trouble with.

Several more than adequate war dubs (and no response) later, it really seems as if a large amount of Bloodlines credibility has been tarnished.

I assume you'll hear a mumble or two here and there, but nobody other than 'Wiley The Undeadable' is flinging proper bars at Trim these days, and only Redrum has ever murked him on beat.

Verdict: Are you choopid!?! what did you think was gonna happen???
Trimbo Slice - 1st round KO

Blue Vs Blue

Ok this one is another dispute playing out internally if you will,
in the same borough, namely 'Blue Borough'

I must state from early that I have my own bias in this particular feud and I don't plan on annexing it from this post. I don't think Strapzy is real and to tell the truth the sound of him pisses me off, I really hate grease MC's that neither feel truthful or show outstanding lyrical content.
The likes of Krept and Konan (please don't send for eachother) can spit gunbars all day if I'm listening
- them bruddahs sound Tarrantino, but I've always thought Strapzy was a bit 'light Blue'
He has so many firearms and football related wordplay my impression is always
"SHALLAP!!! you don't own a gun fam, you own a copy of championship manager!"

So I was delighted to see that
A) this dude Status had moved in to try 'run expose' and B) my fave cameraman Jimmy Chiba snapped it.

as I don't wanna overdo the video embedding thing I will only put up this one,
Strapzy's indirect response and the reply to that are both currently on the frontpage of www.spifftv.com.

Fact is, I may be moved by some of the obvious bias that I have shown, but it does seem like Strapzy is failing to fully acknowledge someone who seems to be posing quite the threat to his current status.

Verdict: Oi Strapzy bruv, you wanna do something before this is declared a TKO

Thursday 13 January 2011

Mario Vs Luigi... neh, Ant Vs Dec... neh, Marger Vs Rival...

Yes actually.
Apparently that is what's going on at the moment...

and frankly it's the least I've been impressed by out of all the recent beefs.

I mean as far as I know this is some 'family beef' and it really feels like it don't belong in the public domain likes this.

A lot of people have speculated that it seems fake and for an artist like Marger I personally think it's not a good look, whatever happened to just going in the front or the back and 'swinging it out' or suttin.

Anyways, Rival has been running through the analogies on twitter and he's not wrong - you don't see Oxide sending for Neutrino, or Milli tryna spin Vanilli, you ain't hearing that Onion was tryna throw Cheese out of the crisp packet and you don't hear Kano's cousin chatting sh*t about him on grimeforum.com.

Even though I think Margers war dub might be the best one I'm gonna talk about (in terms of fire anyway, Trim lyrically betters him) it's also the most ill-advised, stupid even.

Verdict: Nobody wins,

might as well have just went on Jeremy Kyle.
