Power Outage...

The power on my machine just went...

and furthermore I didn't get to save the last pic I was doing!

All isn't lost though, still finished the last two pics I had troubling me...

Back to the matter at hand it is now

In the meantime I'll be banging out some Two Door Cinema Club, some old school Ghostface, 1-2 Marger tracks and the Winners Anthem!

Expect more updates - the weathers too uncivilized for me to touch road right now.

The Sun...

Has an online feature about Marger

That's currently on their site.
Good look for both Marger and Grime as a genre.

Mario Vs Luigi... neh, Ant Vs Dec... neh, Marger Vs Rival...

Yes actually.
Apparently that is what's going on at the moment...

and frankly it's the least I've been impressed by out of all the recent beefs.

I mean as far as I know this is some 'family beef' and it really feels like it don't belong in the public domain likes this.

A lot of people have speculated that it seems fake and for an artist like Marger I personally think it's not a good look, whatever happened to just going in the front or the back and 'swinging it out' or suttin.

Anyways, Rival has been running through the analogies on twitter and he's not wrong - you don't see Oxide sending for Neutrino, or Milli tryna spin Vanilli, you ain't hearing that Onion was tryna throw Cheese out of the crisp packet and you don't hear Kano's cousin chatting sh*t about him on grimeforum.com.

Even though I think Margers war dub might be the best one I'm gonna talk about (in terms of fire anyway, Trim lyrically betters him) it's also the most ill-advised, stupid even.

Verdict: Nobody wins,

might as well have just went on Jeremy Kyle.

Today, I am a War Correspondant...

of sorts anyway. I mean real war is Ordinary People Vs Neo-imperialism, it's the oppression visited on the people of places such as Sudan and Palestine, it's bloodshed.

The kinda conflict i'm talking about is Grime beef,
something that we are never really short of in quantity but often lack in terms of quality.

The situation at present is quite different...
It's all kicking off! Certain man are actively attempting to finish careers, there are a few 'big faces' currently trading war dubs and I must say it's looking peak for certain man!!

Anyways, what I will do is say a little bit about the feuds going on at the moment, then individually say a bit about each of them and upload the evidence.

Marger/ The New Waves now...

Daniel Thomas may be smarter than you...

I'm just saying...
He already knows that 'you can't be a Boss unless your paying someone's salary',
his skills when it comes to organisation / vision is scary to be honest.

Marger's musical product is so authentically grime, but everything from business thinking to online presence is thoroughly more clinical.

For instance, the way Marger carries himself on Twitter speaks volumes - He never says anything counter-productive or stupid, he never ends up looking conceited or self-important.

I went college with Marger for like a year back in the day so I can tell you a few things-
A) He's really that dude - He is road... SNM
B) He's actually nuts - When he 1st said he was sending for Underground Unit on his own, I remember thinking are you serious!?!  But that was no joke *_* Dude was both capable and felt provoked enough.

Anyways, I chat I chat and really it's not necesarry because Margers work and work ethic speaks for itself,
Friends, Roadmans, Countrymen...
If you didn't already know
ITZ ITZZZ MARGERRRR!!

The 'Kushwave EP' is now available for pre-order and I'm really confident about the numbers it will do...
Then again, I'm sure Marger is too!

It's a good look for East London!

Return Of The Rivz...

As the guy who deals with 'Challenging stereotypes and motivating to achieve'
(I don't 'just blog randomly')
it might not make sense to most that I'm promoting anything from
'Mr Headshot Season'.
That's OK though I'll explain...

Dude's Young, Gifted and Talented (not to mention local), furthermore him and Marger grind daily. They 'do this ting', I remember Margz from days at East Ham College, and truly I have to take my hat off. Within the time that myself and old-school Mic Partner Faze-E have stopped and started more time's than a bruck down mini-metro...
Marger is currently CEO of Alien Musik and has definitely shaken his former 'background guy' status, he deserves it too! I remember him hi-jacking a College performance once, he literally stole the show. He's formed a strong squad with himself,  producer RudeKid and Rival being the most notable members
(not to mention the fact 'RAM' is soon 're-available for selection' TTKK)

Anyways, Rival does alot!
He's an angry guy... the first time I heard dude use the phrase 'Come we go!'
it immediately conjured the image of...
and

What can I say!?
Alot actually, so I'll let this speak

Jus Rival, Jus Grimey, Jus Grinding

Return of the Rivz is out now!

Ultimately, neither Rival's content or persona is 'in line' with 'Challenging stereotypes and motivating to achieve' but his workrate and dexterity definitely are. I'm sure the day this young Mic Man truly gives you 'insight' it will be more than poignant. For the moment the passion and energy he brings will surely suffice! One of East London's Top Selected, from one of East London's hardest working camps.

Here's to hoping Alien Musik make money long enough to reach into space!

Scumbags...

I was on the way to go studio and I read an article in the Evening Standard that said Doreen Lawrence, the Mother of Stephen Lawrence...
was car jacked in Thornton Heath. Although she was neither harmed or even spoken to, and the assumption is they were unaware of her identity (justifiably so), the indignity and poignancy of the situation is for from dissolved. How can you peel Stephen Lawrence's mum!?! Why?! Have you no pride? Have you no shame!?! His Legacy deserves to be the war cry for not only people of African descent and the African Diaspora, but all people to unite against the senseless ideologies of racism. Although I'm sure his name isn't so tarnished by this, the names of the carjacker's are.

Too many people of too many different age groups, ethnicities, genders and religious orientation's 'do a little dirt' for me to pass judgement on them. The truth is you can only talk about the life people live if you are faced with exactly the same nurturing and environment as them, and still it's difficult as we are all different people. One things for sure, them dudes retired their 'good curbside names' and really should consider retirement from the road lifestyle, it's really unfortunate but its almost a sign to start living clean, cos that's really f*cking dirty man. To put it in the adequate words of Marger...

If ever I'm gassed in the booth...

I'm absolutely in love with lyricism. My listening ranges from D Double E to Marilyn Manson. The Hip Hop song I remember from being a kid is Blood Money pt 3 by Capone n Noreaga, grime-wise the first thing I remember is probably Escobar or Kano.  I feel no shame in the fact that my flow was and probably still is influenced greatly by the latter two artist, why should I? Kano is one of the greatest to have done it, and Esco, even without a discography befitting to his talents is survived by posthumously by the knowledge amongst the scene that any day he couldv'e woken up and changed the game with a fresh EP or project. Furthermore, I own my flow (or lack there of lol), I do not emulate anyone with the bars I write, and I do not attempt to portray myself as anyone other than who I am.

Anyways! It seems I digress...

Lyrics are powerful, in any genre (I'll share some I like at some point) and many Identify with them in a very personal manner, whether the lyrics are constructed ambiguously or in a more focused manner. I have a problem with the fact that currently in grime (and other MOBO genres) there is seemingly an understanding of a visual and audio aesthetic that is to be maintained at all times. In Grime (as well as, but still more so than other MOBO genre's) this is painful, because ultimately everyone know's it's true individuality that shines through.

Only a cretinous listening public could forget flows like Royal's, lyrics like Trim's or microphone presence like Roach's or Marger's (if you don't know that Marger is coming to get you, then woi... lol some people are playing dress-up's, he like myself is playing leapfrog).
However the one thing that is so forgetable is the many fantasist's. I have no doubt to believe a man who says he has a gun, or has fired it. However, all the 'my Ak47!!! reh-teh-teh, kill another man, body count start looking terminator 4, DVD copy with deleted scenes, bang bang bang, gun empty, throw away gun, draw out other gun, bang bang bang, body everythiiiiing ' type MC's can piddle off and die.

I know some of these MC's personally (if the subliminal shot fits, wear it like a target) and it's a waste of time. Why be so apt at rhyming words or/and singing, producing, etc and show so little faith in your own personality, experience or creative that you'd invent exploits, fabricate activities and represent some caricature rather than just the real you?

Air for all that. Tomorrow i'm going studio for the first time in too long. I won't pussy foot around what I want to say and attempt to instead predict what you want me to say, my individuality is in the public domain to inspire your's.

Put the (fake) gun (talk) down, and think again, we have a responsibility on the mic!!
